The Vanishing Act
In 2019, I began producing The Vanishing Act, a multi-season, full-cast, immersive audio drama set in the 1930s about a disappeared French magician and the oddball team looking to solve the mystery of his disappearance. I also co-wrote, directed, and edited the show, which I also narrate. The Vanishing Act has been featured on DiscoverPods’ list of 10 Funniest Comedy Podcasts (You Might Not Be Listening To Yet), where it was called “a period piece bleak absurdist comedy mystery drama set during the rise of facism in the 1930’s that touches on so many different genres that some of them could be considered spoilers.”
The Vanishing Act was a finalist in six categories in the Audio Verse Awards 2020, and won Best Performance of a Leading Role for Sarah Price’s performance as Augie Eckhart, the lead of the show. We were also a finalist for the DiscoverPods Awards in the Best Audio Drama category. We were a featured show at PodTales, a festival of audio drama and fiction podcasting, and were an official selection of the New Jersey Web Fest.
